How it earns
Capital One lists 2x miles on every purchase and 5x on hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. Miles do not expire for the life of the account.
Who it fits
- You want a simple flat-rate travel card with no categories to track.
- You want a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit: Capital One lists up to $120, once per account every four years.
- You can spend $4,000 in three months.
Who should skip it
- You want lounge access or lots of statement credits.
- You received a Venture or Venture X new cardmember bonus in the past 48 months. Capital One says you are not eligible.
Worth knowing
The one-time $300 Stays credit is for hotel and vacation-rental bookings through Capital One Travel, expires one year after account opening, and earns no rewards when used. Capital One's page says the bonus is available by clicking Apply Now on its page, and may not be available if you navigate away. A referral link may show different terms.
